Inspired by the astonishingly beautiful sets and

costumes in the new movie Mirror Mirror,

we decided to blog about mirrors today! 

Mirrors are a perfect compliment to any space. 

They are used to make a small room feel larger,

to add drama as a focal point and reflect views from adjacent spaces, or to bring the Feng Shui energy

of the water element to the room!

Last weekend, Maggie headed west to 
complete wedding plans for two of her favorite people, 
and take in a spring training game of her 
favorite baseball team, 

the AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPION 

TEXAS RANGERS!

After a 2 hour trip up the I-10 from Tucson, 
it was time for lunch: 
dog and a beer.  And for dessert - cheese nachos!  
What more could a girl want?

Davis Street Mercantile Grand Opening!

Davis Street Mercantile is a new Oak Cliff shop opened by the husband and wife team, Joe Ramirez &

Amy Thomasson Ramirez.  The shop is an eclectic mix of repurposed mid-century modern furniture,

custom pieces by Joe, and a showcase for young artists.

Tangerine Tango Alert!

Back on February 6, Maggie & Reese 

shared the color of the year ~ 

Tangerine Tango

so that all of our design friends would be "in the know".

Since then Tangerine Tango has shown up on 

purses, shoes, fabrics and today, 

walking through a Texas mall 

I stopped in my tracks...

I spy a touch of Tangerine on back wall : )

Way to go Coach!

Maggie's World vs. Reese's World ~ Maggie's Turn

Time for Round 2 in

Maggie's World vs. Reese's World!

This time it is Maggie's turn.

When Maggie saw the beautiful colored tea glasses from

www.maggieandreese.com

(inspiration for the first battle)

she knew exactly how she wanted to use them.

She went to her butler's pantry and pulled out 

Great Aunt Ruth's tableware with its cheerful flowered trim 

of orange, blue and green, 

perfect coordinates for the glassware.

Next she visited her silverware drawer and placed her 

mother's sterling out along with her pewter cow creamer,

crystal spooner and Spode inspired candle holders.

For a softer touch, a cream tablecloth really sets off the

brilliant glass colors in the sunlight.

What a pleasant way to start the morning.

So there you have it ~ one beautiful item

and two ways to incorporate into your home decor.

Maggie's World vs Reese's World - Tea Glasses

Welcome to round 1 in Maggie's World vs. Reese's World!

How does it work?  Maggie and Reese use an item from 

www.maggieandreese.com

and create a design scheme around it and other 

decorative pieces they all ready own.  

Our round 1 feature item - 

Maggie & Reese Moroccan Tea Glasses.

The brilliant colors of the glass immediately 

inspire Reese to pull out her bright 

patio pillows and head outside.  

Using her colorful outdoor pottery, 

deep hued table runner and tumblers, 

and the Moroccan tea glasses for votive lighting, 

her al fresco vignette is almost complete.  

But something is missing, the setting seems to be 

calling for something BIG!  

After contemplating her options Reese pulls out a 

Maggie & Reese 

tabletop elephant and that's it!  Design scheme complete!

But is bringing in elephant over the line?
